Bridge The Divide Foundation

The China Program

Bridge The Divide Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation under the US tax code,   It was founded in 2006 for the purpose of advancing educational opportunities for rural and economically disadvantaged youth.

It's founder, John Metelski, has participated in numerous teaching programs inChina with his 13 year old son and has hosted Chinese university students  to teach Chinese language and customs in US schools.  Finding a desire on behalf of US and Chinese schools and colleges to "bridge the divide" between the new China and America by teaching conversational language and culture in the classroom, he began this Program partnering with the Sino American Society who had been his host during his times in China and which is headed by his good friend, An Wei.

Today, Bridge The Divide Foundation offers employment in China teaching conversational English and US customs to translator schools and universities on a semester and longer basis, and also offers volunteer teaching opportunities for shorter terms.
